The book describes the history and consequences of our adoption of Growth as the principle goal and purpose of our economy and eventually of our culture, our Growth Fetish, from Truman to Bush the Second. A long, strange and interesting tale of the economics, philosophies, personalities, politics and circumstances that landed us where we are today.
